Printing Press and Recycled Newspaper Boxes
Dunedin is home to New Zealand’s first, and longest running daily newspaper – The Otago Daily Times.
Have you ever wondered how newspapers were made in the olden days?
Have a go at simple relief printing these school holidays and make your own print, using techniques that date back to the very first newspapers from the 1600s!
And what can you do with a newspaper once you’ve finished reading it?
There are so many creative ways it can be reused. You could make a hat, a paper mâché ball, or even a small box.
Join us at Toitū these school holidays and learn how to turn your old newspaper into a small box. Then take it home to use as a seedling planter as you get ready for Spring planting in the garden.
